midwest living Magazine

I illustrated a Nov/Dec article for the Midwest Living Magazine. I was asked to draw street scenes from these towns and depict them with winter and holiday imagery. It was a fun assignment to work at the end of summer when it was still warm and sunny! I also drew some vignettes to represent special mementos and artifacts from each city.

Living in Chicago, I have been to Lake Geneva, one of the four towns featured in the article, but have never been to St Charles, Stillwater or Lindsborg. They all have beautiful arhitectucture. This article and the illustrations made me wonder and want to see these cities , stroll at downtown St Charles, walk through the Lift Bridge in Stillwater and join Julotta in Lindsborg!

Four of these illustrations won the AI-41 American Illustration award. Lora Hotel, Downtown St Charles, Downtown Lindsberg and the Lift Bridge were featured in their printed directory.
